SEVENTY-SEVEN

Seventy-seven Sunset Strip
Snap Snap

Seventy-seven is as new to me
as my first pregnancy.
Morning electrolytes prevent wobbling .
A plethora of drugs and minerals
protect me from moods and migraines.
Arthritis resculpts my hands.
My neck hates holding up my head.
Time takes its toll
but gives its gifts.
Limitations are not prognoses.
Deafness silences my world but
I can still hear the birds sing.
I'm grateful for the quiet.
Subtitles are simpler and silent.
I remember the oddest things

Surviving breast cancer is my biggest health blessing. My other infirmities are just noise.

77 Sunset Strip was one of my favorites.

    I love hearing from you!

I didn’t know about the breast cancer. Glad you beat it. My mom did too.

Love your poem Cindy. I sure can relate to it. We’ll have to get together soon.

This speaks to me in so many ways (and my father and I used to watch 77 Sunset Strip together on Friday nights:)

I love it that you liked my poem and that you and your dad watched the show. Thank you.
